Who Qualifies For Your Bursary Or University Student Loan From NSFAS?



The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application process.

Applications at the moment are open and can close on fifteen December 2024.

*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding

To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must fulfill the subsequent criteria:

• Be a South African citizen or copyright who arises from a home using a combined gross household earnings that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.

• People with disabilities qualify if their combined house income would not exceed R600 000 per annum.

• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and want not submit any proof of earnings.

*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle

The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent citizens from homes with combined R350 website 000 and R600 000 for every annum.

Applicants are reminded to offer the proper Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected in their South African ID.

NSFAS only funds people who are researching or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
